Shopping from ebay - Vintage Swimwear

When I was a student in Seattle, the University pool leased out woolen bathers for day use.  This was 1990.  I'm pretty sure the school stocked their supply from the municipal pool in Buster Keaton's The Camerman.  If you're shopping for your very own vintage suit, I advise that you browse the listings on ebay.  A recent search produced many handsome models.  My favorites are those made by the Portland, Oregon based Jantzen swimwear company.  The company's logo - a swan diving lady - is in desperate need of reissue.

Archival Vacation - Hawaii

I'm here in Hawi, HI with Lynn & friends. Though I love Hawaii I find it difficult to document. Every scenic view has already been reprinted in postcard form. In lieu of a traditional AC field report, I'm posting a few placeholder images from Flip Schulke's DOCUMERICA. Though Flip documented the retirement communities of Key West, Fla., in the 1970s, his photographs do well to capture the highlights--and best snaps--from my own tropical vacation.

Archival Playground and Recreation

By day, I work in a basement with a permaclimate. Colleague Ugg wear and winter tan lines have further confused my seasonal cues. As far as I know, June could be January. I use a campus web cam to check the weather but wish I had something more nautical like a periscope or porthole. Since summer is an offscreen event for me, I'm vicariously enjoying scenes of recreation by way of Playground and Recreation magazine, a municipal parks publication from the 1920s.
