Archival Fall Kit

Here a few of my favorite selections from the Fall Archival line.  We're now offering the Archival Rolltop in waxed twill (the perfect fabric for the damp) while reintroducing our Flap Musette in a lighter weight, carmine red canvas duck (a visual refusal of the gloom).  Small scale accessories for the season include waxed canvas trail caps, cotton jersey scarves and austere yet snappy leather cuffs by AC friend Nick Hollows.

Spring Restock - The Hill-Side Scarves

For Spring, we're restocking cotton chambray and printed scarves cut and sewn by our friends at the Hill-side, based in Brooklyn, New York.
Hill-side Abstract Floral Print - Breaking from our traditional offering of stripes and solids, we're bringing in this floral printed scarf made from fabric woven in the USA.

Hill-side scarf in Plum Violet - This is AC designer Tom's favorite colorway. It's made from a 100% cotton 5 oz. selvedge chambray woven in Japan.
Hill-side Indigo Bullseye scarf - This particular scarf utilizes a 100% cotton selvedge, discharge block printed ("shwe shwe") fabric from South Africa.

Shopping from the movies: The Queen (2006)

Next to Montgomery Wards and Mamet's State and Main, the Queen (Frears 2006) is my favorite shopping opportunities. I love to browse all the classic Barbours, Range Rovers, silk scarves, leather brogues, tweed keeperwear, cashmere crewnecks and matching dog breeds. Like a mail order house lost to time, The Queen stocks a small but deep selection of classic items - unchanged by fashion or consumer demand. Here are a few pages from my favorite catalog:

Archival Release: Archival Wool Scarf

Archival is pleased to announce the release of our first all wool scarf. Our scarf is made just for us in Portland, Oregon from fine gauge worsted wool yarn from Maine. The wonderfully unique knit pattern was developed by one of our manufacturers to use up a stockpile of acrylic yarn; when Tom spotted it in their factory he knew that we'd have to make it in wool. The open knit makes the scarf lightweight, wonderfully cozy, and plenty warm. It's sure to become an everyday favorite in chilly weather. Dimensions: 70" x 8"

Colorways: Graphite/Curry/Navy/Royal Blue

Curry

Royal Blue

Graphite

Navy

Our original all acrylic sample (not for sale)

Special thanks to Nicole and Erin for sourcing the fine gauge wool and Keri and Dave for their fit testing notes.
