This picture makes these look to be relatively slim fitting, but when I hear "military" fit I think about those very roomy vintage chinos I used to find at flea markets. Can you comment on fit?

Depends on the era of military chino! These aren't nearly as roomy as the 1940s, more like the 1960s. A very regular, straight fit.
