Shopping from 2006: Boxfresh Vs Barbour

Boxfresh X Barbour (High Snobiety)

This is old news from 2006, but I wanted to electronically document the collaboration between British streetwear designer Boxfresh and Barbour, since I'm assuming that there is no print catalog of this collection. For the record, I'm posting some e-commerce images as submissions to the archive for future reference (once the commercial links stop working and the items are no longer visible or available for sale).

From the Barbour news wire, a related article from The South Shields Gazette: Waxed jacket firm aims for celeb clients.

Hm.... How do you reinvent yourself without alienating your loyal customer base? Maybe a 2nd line or something...

Good question. I'm curious to know how folks feel about these streetwear remixes of classic brands, etc. Will Filson be offering collaborative designs in this mode? The destroyed finish Filson luggage at Steve Alan annex moves the brand in that direction but it's such a blip on the register of most consumers--I doubt it will alienate the loyal customer base (unlike the Lodge line). I certainly like the splash of orange on the Durham Barbour jacket. I'd buy one if it came in my size (which it does not!).
